Pattern: Seeing Stars by Melissa Corry
Fabrics: Vintage Christmas by Bonnie and Camille
Week 5 is relatively easy and I would have been done days ago if we hadn’t gone camping for the weekend! The first set are done and with the way this week is looking I don’t think I’m going to get the second set even started. I’m way behind on the Holly Woods blocks but I’m managing to keep up with the Vintage Christmas blocks. The blocks this week are your basic star blocks made with the no-waste method of making flying geese. I like this method as it seems easier and there is almost no wasted fabric. I’m doing better about letting my mind accept the colors, and I really like these blocks.
I put all the blocks on my design wall and still have some on the floor, this quilt is going to be huge and we still have one more set of blocks to make! They are applique blocks, which also isn’t my favorite, but knowing they are the last set will help me be motivated to get them done. Hmmm, that one “wonky” one in the middle, better make sure when I do my final placement, it’s NOT smack dab in the center 🙂
It’s kind of sad to realize this quilt-a-long is almost done, I’ve enjoyed making these blocks each week but I’m also looking forward to having this quilt done as it’s the first Christmas quilt I’ve made and I hope to have it completely done so we can enjoy it this year.
