My youngest loves Peter Pan so when I saw this material I knew I had to make her a quilt out of it. I sent her some pattern choices and she picked Cascade by Cluck Cluck Sew. I loved making it, I like that the pattern allows the material to show without it being big pieces of it, and it looks modern, yet fun. It was very easy to make and I am sure I will be making this pattern again. I made mine a bit wider, mostly because I had more material, but also this allows it to be more “wrappable” and one is able to snuggle into it completely. The only challenge I had is that some of the material has a direction to it, so when I was cutting out my triangles I had to make sure I cut some upside down and then match them to the correct corresponding top triangle. I love that ocean scene with the mermaids and pirate ships 🙂

See the star in the quilting? My daughter also picked out the quilting pattern. I usually tell Melissa to quilt it with whatever she thinks would look good, she’s far more knowledgeable than I am, but my daughter wanted something with stars and swirly, so she chose this pattern. I think it goes perfectly with the fabric, you know, “second star to the right…..”

For the backing, I still had some of the triangles left over so I put some into the backing. I like doing something special to the backside, afterall, if you’re going to sit on the couch and curl up with the quilt wrapped around you, you want to see something nice on both sides, don’t you? That quilting is amazing! Melissa does a great job, this is one of three I had sent to her and got back all on one box, I can’t wait to finish the other two and show them as soon as they are done.
