Pattern: Swoon by Camille Roskelly
Fabrics: Nest
Difficulty rating: ★★★★

Not only did I finish my July OMG, but I went above and beyond and FINISHED the quilt top! AND….. it’s been sent off to Melissa at Sew Shabby Quilting.

I should get extra brownie points for that! Here is where I was when I made my goal, four more Swoon blocks to go.

And here is where I am as of today.

I think every time I make a new quilt top I learn something. This lesson is to think about the final look before you choose your fabrics. I just picked the fat quarters that I like, it wasn’t until I was trying to decide how to lay them out that I realized I had 4 blues, 3 green and 2 peach. In a 3 x 3 layout, how do you do that? Oh well, I love it just the way it is, but I made a mental note for next time. And there will be another Swoon. I don’t know why I hesitated making this pattern for as long as I did, it just “looked” hard. But it really wasn’t and I love the way it looks. I’m thinking this one is going in our guest bedroom so I can admire it every day.
